Ohio natives, Kayla and Kaz had the most beautiful winter wedding right outside of Columbus at the breathtaking Jorgensen Farms Oak Grove. To all of our future Columbus brides reading this right now who are still looking for the perfect outdoor/indoor venue, you MUST check out Jorgensen Farms…I mean, just look at that ceremony space! Anyways, we digress. Kayla and Kaz’s wedding was simply stunning from beginning to end. Their modern boho theme paired with warm tones and ALL the warm fuzzy feelings of love beaming from the bride, groom and all of the guests made for the most special day. Not to mention, photographer Rachael Michelle captured all of the day’s moments so perfectly. Our beauty experts at REFeyeANCE Makeup & Hair in Columbus had the best morning helping Kayla and her “I Do” crew get ready for her big day. We wanted to take a moment to share all of the details of Kayla’s gorgeous bridal hair and makeup…and a peek into her bridal party as well! We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
Starting off with those gorgeous locks! Kayla has the most lovely long blonde hair so she decided to go with an all down wedding day hairstyle. (The all down look is something we have seen gaining a lot of popularity for brides in 2022). Sticking with her overall modern boho feel, our team gave the gorgeous bride some big, beautiful “old Hollywood” inspired curls with nice volume on top.
Kayla had THE most glamorous hairpiece that she wanted to include so we went with a side part, the hairpiece and a veil for the ceremony that pulled the whole look together so perfectly. The results were truly breathtaking!
Now onto the bridal makeup! We’ve learned over the years that the trick to the perfect wedding day makeup is making sure that the bride looks and feels like their very best self…and not someone else. Highlighting their natural beauty while ensuring that the bride still feels like themselves will always give the very best results.
Kayla has the most beautiful green eyes and so we wanted to make sure to accentuate those in her wedding day look. We went with a beautiful smokey eye and lashes that made her eyes the star of the show! Our makeup team used Temptu airbrush foundation for an all day, all night hold (scroll to the bottom to see HOW amazing Kayla still looked after a long night of dancing and celebrating). We added some contouring and the perfect amount of highlighter to give Kayla the ultimate glowing bridal look…which she encapsulated so perfectly!
For those of you looking for inspo for mothers of the bride and bridesmaid styles- here’s a quick look into Kayla’s bridal party and their wedding day hair and makeup! Kayla’s mother, Mary shares those same gorgeous green eyes as her daughter and so we highlighted those with a light smokey eye, some elegant lashes and properly placed liner.
For Mary’s hair, our Columbus beauty experts went with a half up style with a lot of beautiful volume on top, curls and a few face-framing pieces at the front. While we are here…we absolutely can't forget to include, Scarlett- Kayla’s daughter who stole the hearts of everyone with her flower crown and white dress. Scarlett even got to walk down the aisle with her dad!
Kayla had THE best bridal crew to help here celebrate this monumetnal day and stand by her side and she became Mrs. Each and every one of her bridesmaids looked gorgeous and had their own unique look.
For the bridesmaid hairstyles- we had everything from curls to braids, all down to all up, blonde to brunette and ALL beautiful. For the bridesmaids’ makeup, we used Temptu airbrush and lashes on all of the ladies. Okay, now that we’ve all agreed that Kayla and her crew looked nothing short of amazing on her wedding day in Columbus… we are going to take a quick moment to brag on our team.
